Dedicated servers - iRMC manual

This guide applies to Fujitsu RX100 dedicated servers.

In this article you will learn:

KVM connection

The KVM application requires a Java environment.

To get the iRMC KVM access application, follow these steps:

  1. In the browser, enter the ip address of the server in the address bar from the customer administration or from the e-mail about setting up the service, including the port.
  2. On the login screen, enter the username and password from the service setup email.
  3. On the Console Redirection >> Video Redirection tab, click Start Video Redirection.

Booting from ISO

If you have an open KVM interface, boot from the ISO using the following steps:

  1. Select Remote Storage Remote Storage...
  2. Select the installation media:
    • Select a device from the list on your computer (CD/DVD, USB, ...) and click Connect. This will connect the data device to the server.
    • Click the Add... button and select the ISO file stored on the connected computer. After selecting the file, click the Connect button.
  3. Restart via the Ctrl-Alt-Del button.
  4. Press F12 to bring up the boot menu and select the connected disk.

For a much faster installation, we recommend attaching netinstall installation media.

The CD/DVD is connected to the server until the KVM window closes, or click Disconnect to disconnect it.

RAID settings

The server has 2 physical disks.

The following instructions apply to variants with a hardware RAID controller. For variants without this controller, set the RAID in software.

You start the RAID setup of the server with the HW controller during the boot sequence. Follow these steps:

  1. At the Press Ctrl-C to start LSI Corp Configuration Utility prompt, press Ctrl+C.
  2. Select the desired controller and confirm with Enter.
  3. Select RAID Properties.
  4. Add or set up disks.

When setting up a RAID array, choose the IM option. We do not recommend Integrated Stripping; it offers a larger resulting capacity (combining disks), but if one disk fails, you will lose all your data.

You can also set one of the disks as a Hot Spare type, which will automatically synchronize with the working disk when another disk fails. In the case of IM, you can keep the existing data on one disk and synchronize the other with it.
