Sharing via link
You can share any file or folder on a WEDOS CD using the link, even to users who do not have an account on the service. Follow these steps:
- In the NextCloud ⧉ interface, locate the file or folder you want to share.
- On the right side of the bar, click the share icon .
- In the Sharing panel, use the + button to create a new Share link.

After creating a share link, you can copy it to your clipboard by clicking .
Share settings via link
By default, you share files in View Only mode. To change the sharing settings, click ... and select Customize link.

The first settings items allow you to select the type of sharing:
- Read-only: the user with the link can only browse the file or folder contents. They cannot delete, change or add anything.
- Enable recording and editing: the linked user can upload, modify and delete files.
- Drag and drop file (upload only): the user with the link can only upload new files, they cannot view them (the contents of the folder are hidden), change or delete them. It is not available for file sharing.
To secure the content, select Password Protect (a check box will appear to enter a password) and, if necessary , set an expiration date after which the system will disable sharing.
You can cancel sharing at any time by clicking × Cancel sharing.
Sharing with other users
The CD Family (5 accounts) and CD Office (10 or more accounts) variants support multiple users, but in the basic setup each user has their own space.
To share a file or folder with other users, follow these steps:
- In the NextCloud ⧉ interface, locate the file or folder you want to share.
- On the right side of the bar, click the share icon .
- In the search box in the Sharing panel, enter the name or email of the person you want to share the content with.
- Click the name (e-mail) of the selected user in the menu.

This will add the selected user.
Setting up sharing with another user
By default, a shared folder allows the user to edit, create, delete, and share files. To change the sharing settings, click the ... button to the right of the user's name or email.
Here, you can check the appropriate boxes to list the permissions for managing the document or folder: edit, create (folders only), delete (folders only), and share with others.
