This guide applies to HP ProLiant DL320e Gen8 v2 dedicated servers.
In this article you will learn:
KVM connection
The KVM application requires a Java environment.
To get the iLO KVM access application, follow these steps:
- In the browser, enter the ip address of the server in the address bar from the customer administration or from the e-mail about setting up the service , including the port.
- On the login screen, enter the username and password from the service setup email.
- In the left menu, open Information Overview.
- For Integrated Remote Console, click Java WebStart.
- Download and run the iLO-jirc.jnlp file.

Booting from ISO
If you have an open KVM interface, boot from the ISO using the following steps:
- Use the Power Switch Momentary press to turn on the server.
- Via the tab Virtual Drives attach your own ISO:
- From the computer Image File CD/DVD-ROM option.
- From the Internet CD/DVD-ROM URL options.
- After connection, restart via Keyboard >> CTRL+ALT+DEL.

For a much faster installation, we recommend attaching netinstall installation media.
RAID settings
The server has 2 physical disks.
In the basic settings, the dedicated server is in AHCI SATA mode. RAID in this mode is set in software.
To change to SATA Legacy Support, to Dynamic HP Smart Array B120i RAID Support, or back to AHCI SATA, please contact authorized support via the contact form ⧉.
Before contacting support, boot to the BIOS input. The normal turnaround time for a request is within a few hours during normal business hours, outside of this time it may take longer.
Changing the mode can cause you to lose data, so make sure to back it up off the server.
SATA Legacy is suitable for older operating systems that do not support the other mode. It is retained for backward compatibility. You also set the RAID in this mode in software.
The B120i supports RAID 0 and 1. You set it up in HP Smart Array. The operating system must include drivers for this mode.
