Electronic domain ownership certificate
An electronic domain ownership certificate is a PDF document that confirms the ownership of a domain on a specific date of issuance using a VEDOS-recognized electronic signature. You will use it for official matters requiring such confirmation. As long as the additional service is active, you can always issue it on the current date.
Activating an electronic certificate
You can activate the electronic certificate in two ways:
Activation in the order of a new domain
If you are ordering a new domain, you can activate the Electronic Domain Ownership Certificate extension in step 1 of the order by checking the appropriate box.

Activating an additional service
For an existing domain, activate the additional service by following these steps:
- Log in to the customer administration ⧉.
- Select Domains from the top menu.
- From the list, select the domain for which you want to activate the certificate.
- Select Additional services from the left menu.
- Next to Electronic Domain Ownership Certificate click on the + button.

On the following page, select the option and confirm with the Activate button.
Within 1 business day of activating the additional service, the system will issue and send an invoice for the remaining service period. From the next period onwards, it will issue an invoice for the extension at the same time as the original service.
Download or request an electronic certificate
To generate and download the current certificate, follow these steps:
- Log in to the customer administration ⧉.
- Select Domains from the top menu.
- From the list, select the domain for which you want to generate a certificate.
- Click on VEDOS Certificates in the left menu.
- Use the corresponding button in the Digital Domain Certificate box to download the document or send it to the e-mail address you entered.

Order for a physical certificate
A physical certificate of ownership confirms domain ownership as of the date (and time) of the order. It is printed on security paper and can serve as both an official document and a decorative item. To order one for an existing domain, follow these steps:
- Log in to the customer administration ⧉.
- Select Domains from the top menu.
- In the table, select the domain for which you want to issue the certificate.
- Select WEDOS Certificates from the left menu.
- Fill in the order form and confirm with the send order button.

The usual deadline for processing an order is within 1 month of placing it.
New domain
If you want to generate a physical domain ownership certificate for the domain you are setting up, check the corresponding option in the first step of the domain order form ⧉. We will send the certificate to the domain owner's address.
If you need to order a certificate for a different address, generate it according to the above instructions after you complete the domain order.
If you need to change your delivery address after you have placed your order, please contact customer support as soon as possible via the form ⧉. Please provide the domain name and request to change the shipping address of the certificate.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you also allow a one-time download and payment of the certificate?
Unfortunately, we currently only offer the electronic certificate as a continuous supplementary service, which allows you to generate the certificate any number of times, always for the current date and time. If you want to issue a certificate once, you can order a physical one.
Can I order a certificate for a domain that is not in my customer account?
We do not offer this option yet.
I've changed my mind about ordering a physical certificate. How can I cancel it?
Contact customer support as soon as possible via the form ⧉. Please provide your domain name and a request to cancel your certificate order.
Do I need to order the electronic certificate along with the physical one?
No, these certificates are independent of each other.
How does this physical certificate differ from a printed PDF of the electronic certificate?
This certificate is distinguished by printing on price paper, contains the original WEDOS stamp, the handwritten signature of the owner of WEDOS a.s. and a registered number with the impossibility of repeating the series.
If I order a physical certificate, does that mean the domain is mine forever?
No, the certificate confirms ownership of the domain on a specific date. It serves as a document for authorities, a collector's item, or decoration. It has no effect on domain expiration.
