Create a new user
The first (primary) user of the Disk is created automatically by the system when the service is set up. It sends his login details to the billing e-mail of the service.
You can add additional users to the 100 GB (3 total) and 1-3 TB (5 total) drives. Follow these steps:
- Log in to the customer administration ⧉.
- From the top menu, select Server Services Disk.
- From the services, select the disk to which you want to add the user.
- Select New User Disk from the left menu.
- Fill in the user details:
- Login: username identifier.
- Journey: The path to the user's root directory (default /, the root directory of the Drive).
- Recipient of the email with password.
- Confirm the settings with the create user button.

User settings
Within the user settings, you can:
- Enable or disable disk availability via FTP, rSync, and SMB protocols (see Disk - Device Connection for more information);
- delete the user (not possible for the main user);
- change the user's password;
- change the default directory for the user (not possible for the main user).
Saved changes take effect within 30 minutes.
To enter the user settings, follow these steps:
- Log in to the customer administration ⧉.
- In the top menu, select Server Services WEDOS Disk.
- Select the disk whose users you want to edit from the services.
- In the WEDOS Disk Users table, click the user name.
- Make your edits and click the corresponding save changes button.

Frequently Asked Questions
How can I make the service available to even more users?
Each Disk variant has a maximum number of users that cannot be increased. You can connect multiple devices through a single user account, but we cannot guarantee that the transfer will work properly when connecting multiple devices from the same account at the same time.
