Electronic Domain Ownership Certificate
The electronic domain ownership certificate is a PDF document that confirms ownership of a domain as of a specific date of issue, using a recognized VEDOS electronic signature. You can use it for official matters that require such confirmation. As long as the Add-on Service is active, you can issue it at any time with the current date.
Activating the Electronic Certificate
You can activate the electronic certificate in two ways:
Activation in the order for a new domain
If you are ordering a new domain, you can activate the Electronic Domain Ownership Certificate extension already in step 1 of the order by ticking the corresponding item.

Activating the Add-on Service
For an existing domain, activate the Add-on Service with these steps:
- Log in to the Customer Administration ⧉.
- In the top menu, select Domains.
- From the list, select the domain for which you want to activate the certificate.
- In the left menu, select Add-on services.
- Next to Electronic Domain Ownership Certificate click the button +.

On the next page, select an option and confirm with the button Activate.
Within 1 business day after the add-on service is activated, the system issues and sends an invoice for the remaining period of the service. From the next period onward, the invoice for the extension is issued together with the original service.
Downloading or Sending the Electronic Certificate
Generate and download the current certificate with these steps:
- Log in to the Customer Administration ⧉.
- In the top menu, select Domains.
- From the list, select the domain for which you want to generate the certificate.
- In the left menu of the domain detail, click VEDOS Certificates.
- Using the corresponding button in the Domain Digital Certificate box, download the document or send it to the e-mail address you specify.

Ordering a Physical Certificate
The physical ownership certificate documents ownership of the domain as of the date (and time) of the order. It is printed on security paper and can serve as an official document as well as a decoration. For an existing domain, order it with these steps:
- Log in to the Customer Administration ⧉.
- In the top menu, select Domains.
- In the table, select the domain for which you want the certificate issued.
- In the left menu, select WEDOS Certificates.
- Fill in the order form and confirm with the button Submit Order.

The usual processing time for an order is up to 1 month from the date it is placed.
New Domain
If you want to generate a physical domain ownership certificate for a domain you are currently creating, tick the corresponding option in the first step of the domain order form ⧉. We will send the certificate to the address of the domain owner.
If you need the certificate sent to a different address, generate it following the guide above only after the domain order is complete.
If you need to change the delivery address after submitting the order, contact customer support as soon as possible using the form ⧉. Include the domain name and a request to change the address the certificate is sent to.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you also offer a one-time download and payment for a certificate?
Unfortunately, we currently offer the electronic certificate only as a continuously running Add-on Service, with which you can generate the certificate as many times as you like, always for the current date and time. If you want to have a certificate issued as a one-off, you can order a physical one.
Can I also order a certificate for a domain that is not in my customer account?
We do not offer this option yet.
I have changed my mind about the physical certificate order. How can I cancel it?
Contact customer support as soon as possible using the form ⧉. Include the domain name and a request to cancel the certificate order.
Do I have to order the electronic certificate along with the physical one?
No, these certificates are independent of each other.
How does this physical certificate differ from printing the PDF of the electronic certificate myself?
This certificate differs in that it is printed on security paper, bears the original WEDOS stamp, the handwritten signature of the owner of WEDOS a.s., and a registered number from a series that cannot be repeated.
If I order a physical certificate, does that mean the domain is mine forever?
No, the certificate confirms ownership of the domain as of a specific date. It serves as a document for authorities, a collector’s item, or a decoration. It has no effect on the domain’s expiration.
