This article covers creating a new domain contact. For transferring a contact, or moving it to another customer account, see the guide Domains – Contact Transfer. For instructions on changing contact details, see the article Domains – Edit Contact.
In this article, you will learn:
Determining the Domain Registry
Every domain contact is tied to a specific registry. For example, the registry CZ.NIC ⧉ manages domain contacts that can be used with domains ending in CZ. Contacts can therefore only be used within the given registry. If you want to register a new domain with a different registry, you must also create a new contact.
To find out which registry a domain (and therefore its contact) belongs to, follow these steps:
- Log in to the Customer Administration ⧉.
- In the top menu, select the tab Domains.
- Select the domain whose registry you want to determine.
- In the table Information find the row TLD.

Creating a New Contact
If you need to create a new contact, follow these steps:
- Log in to the Customer Administration ⧉.
- In the top menu, select the tab Domains.
- In the left menu, expand TLD Tools, where TLD is the specific domain extension or registry.
- Select the item Create contact.
- Fill in the form carefully and confirm it with the button Submit.

Pay special attention to entering the email address correctly. Authorization passwords for further changes to the domain are sent to this email address.
Once created, the contact appears in the Contact list of the given extension or registry.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why can’t I choose my own contact name?
Some registries allow a custom contact name, others do not. If the administration does not offer the option to enter a name, that registry does not support custom names.
What if I already have a domain contact, but it is with another registrar?
For a CZ domain, you can transfer it to us by following this guide. For other domain extensions, create a new contact.
