You must have your own Windows Server image to install it. We do not provide this software from our side.
VPS HDD/SSD do not support Windows version 10 and higher. You can only install such OS on VPS ON by following the VPS ON - Installing Windows with VirtIO instructions.
In this guide you will read:
- How to run an OS installation from a custom ISO
- How to use VirtIO to load hard drives
- How to set up a network connection
- Common problems
- Frequently Asked Questions
Starting the OS installation from a custom ISO
To install Windows on a VPS SSD or dedicated server, you need a custom ISO file of the installation media. If you have one ready, boot from it following the instructions in VPS SSD - Connecting and Booting from an ISO.
Once booted, step through the installation to the point where you have a choice of installation type. Here, selectCustom.

Managing hard drives with VirtIO
If you don't see any disks in the Windows installation destination menu, follow these steps:
- In the customer administration, connect VirtIO.
- Switch back to the installation and click Load driver.
- Click Browse and go to the /viostor folder.
- Trace the driver by operating system.
- On the following screen, set the desired partitions.
Setting up partitions will irreversibly delete the data that is on the disk.
After the disks are split:
- In customer administration, disconnect VirtIO and reconnect the Windows ISO (without rebooting).
- In the installation, press the Refresh button.
- Select the disk on which you want to install the system and click Next.

Once the installation is complete, set a password for the Administrator user and log in.
Network connection
Network connection setup consists of updating the network card driver and network connection settings.
Update the network card driver
Use VirtIO to update the network card driver with the following steps:
- In the customer administration, connect VirtIO.
- Open the Device Manager application.
- Select the Ethernet Controller item with the yellow exclamation mark.
- Click on Update Driver Software and select manual installation.

Locate the driver on the attached disk, typically D:\, and install it.
Network connection settings
Complete the network connection by manually setting it up:
- static IP addresses,
- net masks,
- default gate,
- DNS servers.
This information can be found in the customer administration in the VPS details, or in the VPS setup email.
Common problems
Common errors when installing Windows on a VPS SSD include:
Windows cannot be installed on a partition
Problem: An error message is displayed that Windows cannot be installed on the partition (error code 0x80300001).
Cause: Installation disk not connected.
Solution: In the customer administration, disconnect VirtIO and reconnect the installation disk. Do not reboot. In the installation, click Refresh and continue.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you provide me with a Windows installation on the VPS from your side?
Unfortunately, we do not provide Windows installation files from our side and the management of the operating system (including installations that we do not supply from our side) is entirely in the customer's control.
