Email verification
If you receive a suspicious email alerting you that your domain, web hosting, or other service has expired, verify it by following these steps:
- Check the sender's email address. Even if the sender's name is VEDOS or some variation of it, check the sender's email address. If the email is not coming from the domain
@wedos.comor@vedos.czit's a fake. This also applies to typos and similar domains, such as:@vvedos.com- two letters v side by side, they look like wthe so-called typo domain,@wedos-webhosting.cz- the first part is correct, the second part expands it somehow,@wedos.app- correct name, incorrect ending, orwedos@nejakadomena.tld- wedos mailbox, wrong domain.
- Check the targets of the links. The destination of any link to manage a service or payment should start with the customer administration address, i.e.
https://client.wedos.com/. Always check the actual target of the link, not just the text you click on. As with step 1, you may encounter typos and otherwise fraudulent domains.
VEDOS never shortens links to the administration. Links of type wds.cz/abcdef or bit.ly/123456 are fakes.
You can find out the actual address of the link by hovering over the link - the browser usually lists it in the bottom left corner of the screen.

It is no longer the case that fraudulent emails have a poor appearance (or are completely unformatted) and bad Czech. Thanks to artificial intelligence, it's very easy to create an email for free that inspires trust with its high level of appearance and language. However, a favorite tactic of scammers remains high urgency - they try to get you to act as quickly as possible so that you ignore the warning signs until it's too late.
Checking the status of services
If the suspicious email still caused you concern about the status of the services, check them directly in the administration. The easiest way to check the order list is by following these steps:
- Log in to the customer administration ⧉.
- Click on Billing in the navigation bar.
- Select Orders from the left menu.
In the list of orders, you will immediately see which service is paid and which is not. For more information, see Invoicing - Order and document reports.

Keep in mind that domain and Webhosting are separate services. You need both to run your website (and emails).
If you don't see the service here at all, make sure that:
- the service is operated by VEDOS,
- you are logged in to the correct customer account.
If you are unable to find the service, please ask for help in support ⧉. Please provide the name (domain, e.g. wds-test.cz) and type (domain, webhosting) of the service you are looking for.
Report phishing
If you receive a fraudulent email, follow these steps:
- Do not click on any links or buttons in this email.
- Follow the instructions of your mail client to get the message header(sample header and instructions for WebMail can be found here.)
- Report phishing using the form. Include the header you received, and any additional materials such as screenshots, target link addresses, etc. (if you can safely obtain them).
Getting the header of an email in WebMail
The email header contains detailed information about the message that can be used to diagnose problems. In WebMail, you can view it by clicking the arrow on the right side of the message information block.
In WebMail we also recommend to open an email in text format (see picture).
