In this article you can find out:
Generic Domain Owner Email Verification
We are required by ICANN ⧉ (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) to authenticate the emails of generic domain owners as part of its ⧉ rules and policies.
Until you properly verify the domain owner's email, the registry will block the domain's DNS.
Verification procedure
Verification of an e-mail address is one-time, so if the registry has already verified it, it does not require re-verification.
New domain
Once you have completed the registration of a new generic domain with an unverified email, follow these steps:
- Check the domain owner's email inbox, including the SPAM folder.
- Open an email from null@wedos.com with the subject line Generic Domain Owner Email Address Verification / Email Address Verification Required.
- Click on the link in the email starting with
https://client.wedos.com/waps/. This completes the verification.
If you do not confirm the email of the domain owner immediately, the system will send you reminders on the 7th, 15th, 30th and 45th day after registration.
After confirmation, the registry releases the DNS domains. It can take up to 48 hours for the changes to be fully processed.
Resending the verification email
If you can't find the email with the verification link, you can have it resent by following these steps:
- Log in to the customer administration ⧉.
- In the navigation bar, select Domains.
- Select the specific domain whose owner's email you want to verify. Unverified domains are marked with a warning triangle.
- In the domain details, check the Captcha test box and click Submit.
- Complete the email verification by clicking on the link in the message with the subject line Verification of generic domain owner email address from null@wedos.com.

Domain re-registration and change of domain owner
In the context of re-registration and change of domain owner, we verify the email of the domain owner during the procedure itself. We will not require any further confirmation from you.
