Storage - Manual

In this article you will learn:

Data storage

Data storage is primarily used to back up files, whether web, email, or personal data. However, as technology advances, there are increasing demands for expanded file handling, from online sharing and editing to full digital office functionality.

We therefore offer data storage in two variants:

  • Disk ⧉: The Disk service is our primary repository. It serves as a reliable and easily accessible backup and archiving service, especially for websites and files from personal or business computers. We offer the Disk service in 5 GB (Webhosting) or 10 GB (VPS) for free to back up web hosts and SSD servers.
  • WEDOS Cloud Disk (CD) &boxboxbox;: Cloud Disk is a modern storage solution based on the NextCloud platform. It is designed primarily for sharing files, from photos to documents, in real time. We offer a basic version for free.

Establishment and operation of storage facilities

Because they are two different services, Disk and Cloud Disk have their own order forms. It is also not possible to automatically switch from one service to the other.

Drive

To get WEDOS Disk up and running, do the following:

  1. Order the service ⧉.
  2. Wait for the service to be set up (within 1 hour of receipt of payment).
  3. Connect the drive to a site or device using one of the supported protocols.
  4. Download and send data as needed. You can automate backups with your own script or third-party software.

You can get a free Disk with your Webhosting service or server.

Cloud Disk (CD)

To get Cloud Disk up and running, do the following:

  1. Order the service ⧉.
  2. Wait for the service to be set up (within 1 hour of receipt of payment).
  3. Create a service user.
  4. Connect to the drive via the web interface ⧉ or the NextCloud app.
