Main FTP account
The main FTP account of the webhosting system is created at the same time as the service itself. The login details are sent in the e-mail with the information about setting up the service, you can change the password later in the customer administration according to the instructions in the chapter Changing the FTP account password.
The name of the main FTP account is always wXXXXXX, where XXXXXX is usually a six-digit number. It is marked with an H icon in the FTP account overview in the web hosting details.

The main FTP account is the only FTP account authorized to access the root folder of the webhost. If you need to work with the folders of the basic web hosting structure or access a restored backup, connect through the main FTP account.
You cannot delete the main FTP account, only block it.
Additional FTP accounts
Additional FTP accounts are intended primarily for the administrators of individual websites, especially if you run more than one of them on your webhost (via subdomains or aliases). They have permissions to access only the www folder or a defined subfolder.
The name of the main account always has the form wXXXXXX_identifier, where XXXXXX is the same, usually six-digit, number as the main account, and you can choose any account name up to a maximum of 20 characters (upper and lower case letters without diacritics, numbers) as the identifier.
Adding an additional FTP account
To create an additional FTP account for Webhosting, follow these steps:
- Log in to the customer administration ⧉.
- In the top menu, select Hosting Services Webhosting (or WMS).
- From the menu, select the Web Hosting to which you want to add a new FTP account.
- In the left menu or FTP account overview, click New FTP Account.
- Fill in the table:
- Login: enter an individual FTP account name.
- Directory: specify the folder to which the account will have restricted access (including subfolders). Once you create an FTP account, you cannot change this directory. If the directory does not exist, the connection to the FTP account will fail.
- Recipient of the email with password: Check and fill in all emails that should receive a password for this FTP account.
- Click the Create FTP Account button.

Once an account is created, the assigned directory cannot be changed. If the FTP directory does not exist, the connection with the account will fail.
Deleting an additional FTP account
To delete an additional FTP account, follow these steps:
- Log in to the customer administration ⧉.
- In the top menu, select Hosting Services Webhosting (or WMS).

FTP account management
The FTP login details are sent by the system by e-mail when the web hosting is set up (for the main FTP account) to the billing e-mail of the service, or when an additional FTP account is set up to selected e-mails. These details, with the exception of the password, cannot be changed once the account has been created.
If you want to ensure that your account is unavailable with your login credentials when you are not actively using it, you can temporarily block the account.
In the customer administration, you can proceed to manage your account using the following procedure:
- Log in to the customer administration ⧉.
- In the top menu, select Hosting Services Webhosting (or WMS).
- Select the web host you want to manage your FTP account with from the menu.
- In the FTP account overview, click the name of the account you want to manage.

As part of the administration, you can:
Verification of login credentials
You can find the login details directly in the details of the FTP account. To connect to FTP you usually need to know the FTP serveraddress and the login name. For more information, see FTP - Login.
The password for the FTP account can only be found in the setup email. If you do not have this email, you will need to change your password.
In the FTP account details, you can also verify the directory to which the account is directed. This directory cannot be changed. If you need to point the account to a different directory, create a new one.
Change the password for your FTP account
If you need to change your FTP account password, follow these steps:
- Enter the administration of the selected FTP account as described above.
- In the table Change FTP password fill in:
- New password: Enter a new password containing at least 6 characters with at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter and a number. Click the key icon next to the field to generate a random secure password.
- Re-enter the password: To check, re-enter the password from the first field.
- Click on the button to make the change.
For security reasons, the password must not contain the FTP account name or the following strings: 12345, aaaaa, admin, password, passwd, password.

Blocking an FTP account prevents anyone with that account from logging in to FTP without deleting the account. You can immediately unblock the account from the customer administration at any time.
Use this procedure to block or unblock your account:
- Enter the administration of the selected FTP account as described above.
- Click the block or unblock button.
You can recognize a blocked account by the icon with the letter B in the FTP account overview in the Webhosting details.
You can also block the main account.

- If the account is deleted, create a new one with new login details.

If none of this helps, contact customer support. Please provide the Webhost name, FTP account name and attach a screenshot of the error message.
