Requesting an authorization password
You can request a domain authorization password from the customer administration by following these steps:
- Log in to the customer administration ⧉.
- From the top menu, select Domains.
- From the list, select the domain whose authorization password you want to send.
- Select Authorization Password from the left menu.
- Click the Send Authorization Password button.

The system sends the authorization password exclusively to the domain owner's e-mail.
The message usually arrives within a few minutes of the request. If you don't see it in your inbox, check your SPAM folder. If it's not there either, try requesting the password from another browser.
Requesting a password directly from the registry
Some registries allow you to request an authorization password directly from their websites. These include:
- CZ.NIC ⧉ for .cz domains
- EURid ⧉ for .eu domains
Bulk request for authorization passwords
You can also request authorization passwords in bulk for multiple domains. Follow these steps:
- Log in to the customer administration ⧉.
- From the top menu, select Domains.
- In the list, check the domains whose authorization passwords you want to send.
- In the action menu with the selected items, select to send an authorization password.
- Click the Execute button.

Authorization password of the domain contact
In some cases, you need the domain contact's authorization password instead of the domain authorization password. These are two different items, the domain authorization password does not work for the domain contact, and vice versa.
When entering the authorization password, follow the instructions to determine whether to enter the domain password or the domain contact password.
Send your contact authorization password by following these steps:
- Log in to the customer administration ⧉.
- From the top menu, select Domains.
- In the left menu, select the registry, and then select Contact Authorization Password.
- Enter the contact identifier and fill in the control text.
- Click the Send Authorization Password button.
Send the authorization password to the contact in the registry:

Common problems
Common problems with sending an authorization password include:
- The domain is not in the list of services on the account
- The password you sent is not arriving
- The email of the domain/contact owner is unavailable
- The sent authorization password does not work
The domain is not in the customer account
Problem: We do not see the domain whose authorization password we need to send in our customer account.
Cause: the domain is in another customer account, with another registrar, or it expired and the system deleted it.
Solution: If the domain is active and registered with us, use the Domains - Move between accounts using an authorization password tutorial. You can use the authorization password sent in this way not only to move between accounts, but also for the purpose for which you originally requested the password.
Password not coming
Problem: The sent authorization password is not arriving.
Solution: Wait. If you don't receive the password within a quarter of an hour of sending it, verify that you are checking the domain owner's mailbox and not another (for example, billing - it may be different). If the mailbox is correct and the password does not arrive even after 15 minutes after the request, try to request the password from another browser or directly from the registry (CZ.NIC, EURid only).
Unavailable e-mail
Problem: The email address to which the authorization password goes is unavailable.
Solution: Follow the instructions for resolving an unavailable email from the domain owner.
Authorization password does not work
Problem: When I enter the authorization password, I get an error message that the password is not valid.
Cause: the password may be expired (due to expiration or use elsewhere), or it may belong not to the domain, but to its contact.
Solution: First, make sure that you are actually using the domain authorization password and not, for example, the authorization password of the domain contact. If you have had your password sent more than once, make sure you enter the most recent one.
Frequently Asked Questions
We received the authorization password without asking for it. Is someone trying to steal our domain?
Some authorization passwords can be requested by anyone (even an unregistered user), for example, as part of a domain re-registration. This may be a typo or a mistaken belief that a domain re-registration is the same as a change of ownership. Our system only sends passwords to the domain owner's email. If you have secured it, domain theft by misuse of the authorization password is unlikely.
If you are worried about your domain being stolen, consider domain insurance ⧉. The service includes IT and legal assistance.
