This article deals with setting up a new domain contact. Its re-registration, or transfer to another customer account, is addressed in the Domains - Contact Re-registration tutorial. For instructions on how to change a contact's information, see Domains - Edit a Contact.
In this article you will read:
Designating a domain registry
Each domain contact is associated with a specific registry. For example, the CZ.NIC ⧉ registry manages domain contacts applicable to domains with the extension CZ. Therefore, the contacts can only be used within a given registry - if you want to create a new domain with another registry, you must also create a new contact.
To find out which registry the domain and thus its contact are located at, follow these steps:
- Log in to the customer administration ⧉.
- In the top menu, select the Domains tab.
- Select the domain whose registry you want to specify.
- In the Information table, find the TLD row.

Create a new contact
If you need to create a new contact, do the following:
- Log in to the customer administration ⧉.
- In the top menu, select the Domains tab.
- In the left menu, expand TLD Tools, where TLD is a specific domain extension or registry.
- Select Create contact.
- Fill in the form carefully and confirm it with the Submit button.

Please pay special attention to the correct completion of the email. Authorization passwords for further domain modifications are sent to this e-mail.
After creation, the contact appears in the Contact List of the extension or registry.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why can't I choose my own contact name?
Some registries allow custom contact names, others do not. If the administration does not offer the option to enter a name, the registry does not support custom names.
What if I already have a domain contact, but it is with another registrar?
In the case of a CZ domain, you can re-register it with us by following these instructions. For other domain extensions, create a new contact.
