In this article, you will learn:
Data Storage
Data storage is used primarily for backing up files, whether for a website, email, or personal data. As technology develops, however, so do the demands for broader file handling, from online sharing and editing to the functionality of a full-fledged digital office.
We therefore offer data storage in two variants:
- Disk ⧉: The Disk service is our basic storage. It serves as a reliable and easily accessible backup and archive, primarily for websites and files from personal or company computers. For backing up Webhosting and VPS SSD servers, we offer the Disk service free of charge in a size of 5 GB (Webhosting) or 10 GB (VPS).
- WEDOS Cloud Disk (CD) – discontinued: Cloud Disk was a modern storage service based on the NextCloud platform, designed primarily for sharing files in real time, from photos to documents.
Setting Up and Using Storage
Because these are two different services, Disk and Cloud Disk have their own order forms. It is also not possible to switch automatically from one service to the other.
Disk
You can get WEDOS Disk up and running with the following steps:
- Order the service ⧉.
- Wait for the service to be set up (within 1 hour of receiving payment).
- Connect the disk to your website or device using one of the supported protocols.
- Download and send data as needed. You can automate backups using your own script or third-party software.
With a Webhosting service or a server, you can get a free Disk.
Cloud Disk (CD)
The CD service will be discontinued. The service can no longer be ordered. Existing customer services will keep working until the final shutdown, the date of which we will announce to you in good time by email.
