Deleting emails in the trash
When you delete emails normally, the messages are moved to the trash, where they stay (and continue to take up space) until you empty the trash.
Mark the emails you want to delete first. You can use the following methods:
- Mouse selection. Holding down the Ctrl key will select each email you click on. Holding down the Shift key selects the pair of selected emails and all other messages in between.
- Offer for selection. This menu allows you to select everything (complete folder contents), the current page, unread emails, flagged emails, emails that are not selected (override selection) or deselect all flagged emails (nothing option).

Once you have the emails selected, click the Delete button in the top bar, or press the Delete key.
Emptying the basket
To empty the bin, follow these steps:
- Log in to the WebMail client ⧉.
- Select the menu item Trash.
- In the folder, select the emails you want to empty from the trash.
- Click the Delete button in the top bar, or press the Delete key.
Use the same method to empty the Spam folder.
Items dumped from the trash/spam are completely removed from the server by the system, freeing up the space they occupy. They can only be restored from backup.
Automatic basket emptying
You can have the trash emptied automatically every time you log out of WebMail. Follow these steps:
- Click Settings.
- From the menu, select Properties and then Server Settings.
- For Empty the Recycle Bin on Logout, select the type of messages you want to remove from the Recycle Bin.
- Click Save.
Common problems
Common problems with deleting emails in WebMail include:
A short list of messages
Problem: Too few messages are displayed on one page and sorting is inconvenient.
Solution: Click Settings in the top right corner, then Properties and Clipboard View in the left column. In the Lines per page box, set the number of messages the client writes per page and confirm with the Save button.

Frequently Asked Questions
I deleted emails older than 1 week. Can they still be restored from backup?
