Common problems

Common problems with changing your email password include:

New password not working

Problem: After changing my password, I still can't log in to my mailbox.

Cause: In addition to the password, other information is involved in a successful login. In some cases, the mailserver may be unavailable. The most reliable login test is the online client WebMail ⧉.

Solution: Make sure your login credentials, the process for entering them and the mailservers are correct.

  1. After saving the password change, wait 15 minutes for the new settings to take effect.
  2. Log in with your full email address and new password to WebMail ⧉.
  3. Check the SMTP and POP3/IMAP settings in your email client (Outlook, Thunderbird, ...).
  4. On the Status ⧉ verify that the mail servers are not down.

I don't have access to customer administration

Problem: I can't change my password because I can't get into Webmail or the customer administration.

Cause: Mail services are either managed by a third party or are in an unavailable customer account.

Solution: If your mail hosting is managed by a third party or company, please contact that provider to change your password. If you have mail services in your account but cannot log in, follow the instructions in Administration - Login Problem.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do email passwords show up everywhere?

Change the password for all mail clients for which you want to retain access to the mailbox. If you are sending emails from a web form, make sure you set a new password there as well (unless you are sending via PHP mail).

The change will not affect the access data to the VEDOS customer administration.
