This guide applies to the VPS SSD service. To install or reinstall the Ready OS on VPS ON, follow the instructions in VPS ON - Installing the Ready OS.

In this article you will learn:

Preparing the VPS for installation

You can have the operating system installed on the VPS SSD as part of your order. If you have chosen to order without the operating system or you want to reinstall the existing system, please make the following preparations:

  • Back up the data and configuration you want to keep. The system will format the virtual disks when you reinstall, so you will lose all data on the entire server. The reinstallation will also delete any existing snapshots.
  • Pay attention to the choice of operating system. You can reinstall at most once per hour.

Performing a reinstallation

Reinstalling a prepared OS from the customer administration usually takes 5 - 15 minutes.

By reinstalling the system, you will lose all your data, including saved snapshots.

Follow these steps to reinstall:

  1. Log in to the customer administration ⧉.
  2. From the top menu, select Server Services VPS SSD.
  3. Select the VPS you want to reinstall from the list.
  4. Select Reinstall from the left menu.
  5. Select the operating system and confirm by clicking Start reinstallation.
