WebMail - Forwarding emails

This article describes how to set up automatic message forwarding in the WebMail ⧉ client. You can also forward mail directly from your mailbox, or forward from a domain.

The screenshots are taken in the new Elastic template. If you are using the older Larry template, follow the text instructions or change the template at least temporarily according to the manual.

Automatic message forwarding

The system deletes automatically forwarded messages from the server after forwarding, even if there is a delivery error.

To set up message forwarding, first create a new filter by following these steps:

  1. Log in to the WebMail client .
  2. In the top right corner, click Settings.
  3. Select Filters from the left menu.
  4. Click Create.

In the new filter form, fill in:

  • Filter name: Choose any name by which you can easily identify the filter.
  • Scope: If you don't want to forward mail by criteria (e.g. subject containing the word Invoice), select All messages.
  • Action: select Forward message to from the menu and fill in the empty field with the email address you want to forward messages to.

Complete the setup by clicking Save.

If you just want to be notified when a message is received instead of forwarding it, select Send notification instead of Forward message and set the notification email, notification message, and other parameters.


Other forwarding options

You can extend basic forwarding with additional options, for example:

Forwarding to multiple addresses

You can set up additional forwarding addresses by clicking the + button in the Actions section and re-entering the Forward message to and email addresses action.

Leaving forwarded messages in the mailbox

In normal forwarding settings, WebMail deletes the forwarded message. To keep it in your mailbox as a backup or for other purposes, follow these steps:

  1. Use the + button in the Actions section to add a new action.
  2. In the action menu, select Copy message to and then Incoming mail.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I forward messages in other ways?

Yes, you can also set up forwarding for your mailbox in the hosting settings or directly on the domain (applies to all mail directed to the domain).
