The development and support of WebSite 1.0 has been discontinued by the vendor.
We offer this service until the release of the new version WebSite 2.0, which we are currently working on intensively. Services set up before the new version will remain available in the original editor, and support will continue to be available for paid versions.
In this article you will learn:
- Basic information about WebSite 1.0
- Change of tariff
- Project settings
- Controls
- Common problems
- Frequently Asked Questions
Basic information
WebSite 1.0 is a simple block-based web editor that allows you to create static web pages without coding.
The advantages of WebSite 1.0 include:
- The basic version (e.g. for testing) is free.
- Wide selection of pre-made templates and blocks.
- Intuitive visual design for mobile, tablet and PC in one interface.
- Option to insert your own code (only paid versions on request from support).
The disadvantages are:
- Completed development and vendor support. Elements or combinations of elements may contain bugs that are time-consuming for us to resolve.
- Displaying only static content - sites do not support, for example, comments on articles, adding items to the cart, etc.
- Contact forms do not support adding or deleting fields.
- The need for frequent manual intervention - for example, page section names, manual link updates, etc.
WebSite Tariffs 1.0
WebSite 1.0 is offered in three tariffs - Free, Profi and Premium. You can find their comparison on the WebSite 1.0 product page ⧉.
To increase your tariff, follow these steps:
- Log in to the customer administration ⧉.
- From the top menu, select Hosting Services WebSite.
- Select Change variant from the left menu.
- Click on the Select the selected tariff button.
- Confirm your choice with the Change variant button.

It takes half an hour at most to change your tariff. After this time, log in to the WebSite administration ⧉ and republish the site.
The service tariff cannot be reduced for technical reasons!
Project settings
In this chapter you will find instructions for:
Login to the editor
Follow these steps to log in to the editor:
- Log in to the customer administration ⧉.
- From the top menu, select Hosting Services WebSite.
- In the service details section of the WebSite management interface, click Log in.
- In the WebSite interface, click the green button with the pencil icon.

Project and page settings
Using the settings and the project, you can insert mainly the favicon of the page, custom CSS (e.g. fonts) and third-party codes (most often Google Analytics and similar).
To access the project settings (all pages at once) or a single page from the open editor, do the following:
- In the upper right corner of the editor, click on the icon of three vertical dots.
- Select Project Settings or Page Settings.
- Fill in the required settings.
- Click Save Settings.
Storing and publishing the site
In preview mode, the site does not support links to other project pages. Therefore, you can only check the functionality of links on the published site.
We recommend that you save the website continuously using the Save Now (!) button in the top bar. However, the settings will not be reflected on the site until you publish them as follows:
- In the right side of the top bar, click on the Publish Web button.
- Select which pages you want to publish from the list.
- Click on the Publish Now button.
To preview the page before publication, click on the Preview button.

Controls
Editor controls include:
- Left menu: Use this element to insert basic elements on the website, which are:
- Templates: a template is practically a complete page that you can edit freely.
- Blocks: a block is a pre-made section of content, such as a navigation bar or gallery. You can place them anywhere in the template, or build a whole page of them.
- Components: components are small parts of a page, such as headings, buttons, or individual images. You place them in existing blocks.
- Pages: paid WebSite variants can consist of multiple pages.
- Detailed Editor: each component has at least one detailed editor panel, which can be opened by clicking on the blue button of the component's gear wheel. Here you can set the appearance of elements, link targets, etc.

Common problems
Issues that require customer support intervention are handled only for paid versions of WebSite, unless otherwise stated.
Common problems with WebSite 1.0 include:
- Editor or resulting website not working
- Saved block previews do not work
- Links in preview don't work
- Outdated website
- Missing background images
- Crowded gallery
- Displaying ads after tariff increase from Free
- Favicona WEDOS in search engine results
- Broken form
Editor or website not working properly
Problem: Content disappears from blocks, changes are not saved, only a white page is displayed instead of the site, or Error 503: Service temporarily unavailable.
Cause: ad blocking software or another browser plugin is interfering with the editor.
Solution: Turn off (at least within the editor) ad blocking software or the corresponding anti-virus feature.
Restore damaged blocks from history, or delete and recreate. Restoration cannot be done from our side.
Saved block previews do not work
Problem: After saving the block, we can't find it, the preview image is missing.
Solution: You can find the saved blocks in the menu Blocks > Saved blocks. They are saved chronologically, so you will find the last block added at the very end. Unfortunately, we have not yet been able to solve the problem with the thumbnail images not being displayed.
Links in preview don't work
Problem: I have several pages created in WebSite. Whenever I click on a link to another page, I get a 404 error.
Cause: links to other pages of the same project do not work in preview mode.
Solution: Publish the site and check the functionality of the links there.
The website displays old content
Problem: After an update, the page displays old web content.
Cause: Most often the updated page has been renamed, but the navigation still leads to the original file.
Solution: Check that the name of the updated page matches the name in the browser address exactly. For example, if you have renamed a page galerie.html at Galerie.html, make sure you are opening the page Galerie.html.
Update all links to the new page name manually - the editor does not automatically correct links.
Background images are not displayed
Problem: Background images load only in the editor, but not in the preview or on the web.
Cause: the images do not have the correct address.
Solution: Open the detailed image editor and in the Background image add a subdomain to the address img.

Crowded gallery
Problem: You can't upload additional images to the gallery even though the old ones have been deleted.
Cause: the system failed to delete images from the server.
Solution: Send an authorized request to delete the gallery. We also handle these requests within WebSite Free. Normal turnaround time is within 1 week.
Ads in the paid version
Problem: After upgrading from Free to the paid version, ads still appear.
Solution: Republish the site in the Website editor. In the browser, use the Ctrl+Shift+R keyboard shortcut to load the updated content directly from the server.
Favicona WEDOS in search
Problem: After uploading a new favicon, the WEDOS logo still appears in the search results.
Cause: Search engines prefer a default file over a favicon set directly on the page favicon.ico.
Solution: Send an authorized support request and ask for your favicon to be renamed on the server. Normal turnaround time is within a few business days.
Broken form
Problem: No emails from the contact form.
Cause: the form is corrupted, or the destination email settings are not set correctly.
Solution: Log in to the WebSite interface first, but not to the editor. In the upper right corner, click on Hello, wXXXX and select My Account from the drop-down menu. Fill in the email field here (you can change it or leave it the same) and save.
If this does not help, delete the form and insert a new one.
Avoid editing form fields, especially copying and deleting them.
