Internal URL
By default, the Hosting WP service is set up at an internal address in the format vwh1234.789.vedos.website, for the following reasons:
- Creating content outside the production domain. We recommend switching to the production domain only after you have finished building the new website, or migrating the original one. This way, you will avoid, for example, publishing website reconstruction notices or having test content indexed.
- Setup speed. Because DNS records and SSL certificates propagate relatively slowly on hosting, setting up a service on the main domain is often lengthy, and the links you receive may not work correctly right away. We create internal addresses in advance, so the new service is ready to use immediately after setup.

Switching to the service domain
Before switching from the internal address to the service domain, make sure that:
- The domain’s DNS is pointed to the Hosting WP service a od jejich nastavení uplynulo aspoň 30 – 60 minut.
- The new or migrated website is ready to use. Pay special attention to how third-party APIs work, especially payment gateways.
Then follow these steps:
- Log in to your WordPress administration.
- In the left menu, select Settings General.
- For the item Website URL (Hosting) select Public domain.
- Click the button Switch URL.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do some service addresses in the Customer Administration not work?
WordPress can only run on one domain at a time. If it runs on the internal address, it cannot run on the public domain, and vice versa. The service setup email mainly uses the internal address. The Customer Administration, in turn, assumes that you will usually access the website on the public domain through it.
Why can I only switch between the internal URL and the Hosting WP service domain?
The service is not compatible with any other domain (or subdomain). If you want to change the domain of the Hosting WP service, rename it following this guide.
