The Mailhosting service
The Mailhosting ⧉ service came about from customers asking for email mailboxes without having to buy Webhosting or a paid variant of the WebSite service at the same time. It works almost identically to the email services of those products, but you don’t pay for a website that you don’t use or host elsewhere.
If you want to have both email and a website with VEDOS, order the Webhostingservice, or a paid variant of the WebSite.
Among other things, Mailhosting offers:
- 5 GB (Individual) nebo 1 TB (Business) prostoru pro e-maily (můžete navýšit až na 505 GB / 5 TB)
- unlimited number of mailboxes and mailbox aliases
- přístup k e-mailům pomocí klienta nebo v prohlížeči přes WebMail ⧉ (manual)
- DKIM, SPF, antispam, antivirus, advanced protection against attacks
- catch-all option (messages to any address are delivered to a specific mailbox)

Mailhosting limits are the same as those of the Webhosting and WebSite services, namely:
- maximum number of emails sent per day: 500 in the Individual plan, 2500 in the Business plan (more information ⧉)
- maximum size of sent emails including attachments: 100 MB
- using the SMTP server for bulk email sending is prohibited, including requested emails (more information ⧉)
- email services do not include: groupware, calendar, data sharing, synchronization, Instant Messaging, VoIP
Terms for ordering Mailhosting
Before creating a new order, make sure that:
- You own the domain you are ordering Mailhosting for, or have it in your customer account. Mailhosting can also be set up by an authorized domain user. The exception is ordering the service with a free domain.
- You do not use the domain you are ordering Mailhosting for with another service with email (Webhosting, paid variants of WebSite).
If you want to get a free domain with Mailhosting, register it directly as part of the Mailhosting order. The free domain offer cannot be applied retroactively to domains that were ordered and paid for separately.
Ordering Mailhosting
You can order Mailhosting Business with a monthly or yearly billing period. Mailhosting Individual supports only yearly billing.
If you meet the terms, order a new Mailhosting using this link ⧉ by following these steps:
- Enter the domain and:
- Use Add-on Services to set the required mailbox capacity (the Add-on Service with a capacity of 5 GB is available only for Mailhosting Individual, 1 TB for Mailhosting Business).
- Decide whether you want MX DNS records to be set/changed automatically (applies only if the domain uses WEDOS DNS servers).
- Tick the required consents.
- If you are not logged in to the Customer Administration, log in now ⧉.
- Enter the billing details to which we send invoices and other information about the service, such as attack reports and the limits that have been set.
- Enter the service operator’s details.
- If you are registering a free domain with Mailhosting, fill in its settings and the owner’s details.
- Check the entered details and complete the order by clicking Complete Order.
Note: the paid add-on service increasing email storage by 5 GB is turned on automatically in the order. If a 5 GB mailbox is enough for you, untick the paid add-on service.
If you do not choose payment from the Credit Accountwhen completing the order, the system will send an invoice to the billing email specified for the service.
Mailhosting will be up and running within 1 hour of successful receipt of payment.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why can’t I create Mailhosting when I have Webhosting?

Why is the price of the service in the order twice as high as the one in the offer?
Make sure the paid add-on service increasing email storage by 5 GB is unticked. The prices should then match.
