This article covers global service behavior settings before expiration. To renew a service, follow the article Services – Renewal. For details about service expiration, read the article Services - Expiration.
The default behavior before service expiration is to send payment requests in advance, reducing the risk of service interruption if there are complications receiving the request or making payment.
In this article, you will learn:
- How to configure global service behavior before expiration
- How to manage service behavior using folders
- Frequently asked questions
Service expiration settings
In Customer Administration, you can configure global service behavior before expiration. The period before expiration varies by service type and billing period:
- 14 days for services billed monthly
- 21 days for hosting services
- 30 days for domains
The settings do not apply to services awaiting termination.
To open the global settings, follow these steps:
- Log in to Customer Administration ⧉.
- In the top menu, select My account Customer.
- In the left menu, select Service expiration settings.

In the table Service behavior settings before expiration you can select the behavior for each service category:
- Payment request with reminders is the default setting. The system sends a payment request 14 to 30 days before expiration, depending on the service type and billing period. If the service has not been correctly paid for 5 to 8 days before expiration, it sends another reminder.
- Payment request without reminders sends only a payment request 14 to 30 days before expiration, depending on the service type and billing period. It sends no further messages.
- No payment request, notification only does not issue a new payment request; it only sends a notification about the approaching service expiration 5 to 8 days beforehand.
- Automatic renewal requires a Credit Account. It attempts to pay for the service automatically using credit 10 days before expiration. Renewal using credit is irreversible. If the Credit Account has insufficient credit, a message is sent to its billing email address. For more information, see the article Services – Renewal.
- Do nothing does not attempt to renew the service or send expiration notifications. However, the registry or an authority designated by it may still contact the owner about expiring domains.
You can also enable or disable the following settings:
- Automatic activation of recommended Add-on Services je nastavení, které při prodloužení automaticky aktivuje vybrané doplňkové služby. Aktivované doplňky můžete opět deaktivovat podle guide to managing Add-on Services.
To apply a setting to all services, select it in the table select all.
After configuring the settings, save them with the button change settings.
Service folders
If you need selected services to behave differently before expiration than the global settings, you can add them to a folder with its own rules. Customers commonly use service folders for:
- Automatic renewal of their own services from the Credit Account, while their customers’ services in the same account are renewed after the invoice is paid (the default setting).
- Not renewing one-off services purchased for a single period, without having to immediately terminate them.
Creating a new folder
Each folder applies only to the service category where it was created. A folder created in Domains therefore cannot manage Webhosting services, and vice versa.
To create a folder, first open folder management as follows:
- Log in to Customer Administration ⧉.
- In the top menu, select the service category where you want to create the folder.
- In the service overview, click the link manage folders.

On the next page, in the box add folder below the folder list, enter the new folder’s name and click the button Create. This creates a new folder with default settings, which you can then customize.
Folder settings
To change folder settings, first open folder management in the same way as when creating a new folder.
Název složky můžete změnit přímo v seznamu složek. Stačí zadat nový název do textového pole s původním názvem složky a kliknout na tlačítko uložení.
To delete a folder, click the red button × on the left side of the row.
To open the folder’s settings, click the tool icon to the left of its ID number.

The settings contain a table listing the services in the folder, followed by these settings:
- Behavior before expiration, where you can let services inherit the global settings, or choose custom behavior: payment request with reminders, payment request without reminders, no payment request, automatic renewal or do nothing.
- PUSH notification alerts, where you can let services inherit the global settings or enable or disable notifications.
- Automatic activation of extensions upon service renewal, where you can let services inherit the global settings or enable or disable automatic activation.
After changing the settings, confirm the new values by clicking the button set.

Adding services to and removing them from folders
Each service can belong to no more than 1 folder at a time.
To add a service to a folder, follow these steps:
- Log in to Customer Administration ⧉.
- In the top menu, select the category of services you want to manage.
- Use the checkboxes on the left side of the overview to select the services you want to move to a folder.
- At the bottom right of the table, in the menu move to folder: select a folder and confirm the move with the button Apply.

To remove a service from a folder, follow the same procedure as for adding it, but select the option – none –.
Frequently asked questions
How exactly does automatic service renewal work?
Automatic renewal uses the Credit Account, from which services with automatic renewal enabled deduct credit. If a service cannot be renewed automatically, you must renew it manually (although you can still pay the payment request from the Credit Account). For detailed information, see the article Services – Renewal.
Why do you send payment requests a month before the due date?
If the system does not correctly match the corresponding payment to the service in time, it considers the service expired and disables it. To prevent an outage, we send payment requests well in advance to allow for late reading of emails, payment issues and other complications.
We want to renew the service, but invoices go to the wrong person or contain outdated details. How do we change this?
Follow the guide to changing billing details. Doporučujeme také kontrolu domain owner, or the hosting operator.
If I put services in one folder, will they be billed together?
No, putting services in a folder only changes their behavior relative to the global service expiration settings. Services still expire separately and are renewed separately.
