You can find a simplified version of this guide in the article Getting Started – Customer Account.

If you are having trouble logging in to your customer account, follow the guide Administration – Login Problems.

In this article, you will learn:

Creating a customer account

To create a new customer account, we require:

  • A working email address, which also serves as your login name. If you lose your password, we also send instructions for resetting it to this email.
  • A phone number able to receive SMS. We verify your identity by phone if you do not have access to your login email.

Creating and maintaining a customer account is free of charge.

If you want to store credit on your account to pay for services, create a Credit Account.

Create a new customer account using the registration form ⧉.

To register, you can:

Shared registration

If you have an account with Facebook, Google, MojeID or LinkedIn, you can use it to register quickly with WEDOS. In the login form, click the icon of the selected service and follow its instructions.

You can also create a new customer account by filling in the registration form:

  1. Carefully fill in the required details (marked with a red asterisk) and tick the mandatory consents.
  2. Pass the reCaptcha check.
  3. Click Create Account.

During registration, you also enter a password. It must meet the following requirements:

  • at least 8 and at most 50 characters long
  • contains at least one lowercase character, at least one uppercase character, at least one digit and at least one of the following special characters: !\”#()+,-./:;<=>?@[]^_`{|}~*

You can generate a secure password by clicking the key icon in the field Password.

After the account is created, the system asks you to verify the phone number you entered. Enter the verification SMS code, or postpone the verification until later.

If everything is in order, the system creates the new account and we send you an email with further instructions from the address wedos@wedos.com, which also verifies that your email address works.

Activate your account by clicking the link in the email (https://login.wedos.com/activate/…).

If the email with instructions does not arrive within 10 minutes, check your SPAM folder. If there is a typo in the email address, create a new customer account with the correct address.

After activating the account, log in. If you postponed SMS verification during registration, the system sends a verification SMS to the phone number you provided during registration.

If the message does not arrive, have it sent again, or change the phone number using the link.

Once your phone number is verified, you can use the customer administration to its full extent.

Account security

Detailed information about securing your customer account can be found in the guide Administration – Customer Account Security.

Sub-accounts

The administration does not allow you to create sub-accounts directly under customer accounts, but it does allow you to give other accounts access to services or billing in one customer account. You can find more information and setup instructions in the article Administration – Authorized Service User.

Cancelling an account

Detailed information about cancelling a customer account can be found in the guide Administration – Account Cancellation.

Common problems

Common customer account errors include:

Incorrectly entered email or phone number

Problem: I made a typo in the email address or phone number I registered with.

Solution: If the typo is in the email, create a new account with the correct address. If the typo is in the phone number, postpone its verification until after authorization, where you will be able to correct the phone number.

Verification SMS does not arrive

Problem: The phone number is definitely correct, but the verification SMS does not arrive.

Cause: The most common cause is blocking by the carrier or the (smart)phone.

Solution: On a smartphone, try temporarily switching to a different SMS client. If that does not help, contact Support.

Forgotten login details

Problem: We have forgotten the login name and/or password.

Solution: Support can give you a hint about your login name; write to us via the form and ask for help. State the services that should be in your account.

You can change the password at this link ⧉.

More detailed help can be found in the article Administration – Troubleshooting Login Problems.

Services are not visible in the account

Problem: After logging in, we do not see our services in the list.

Cause: Common causes include:

  • You are checking services of the wrong type
  • The services are:
    • deleted
    • in a different account
    • with a different provider

Solution: Make sure you are viewing the correct list (for example Domains, not Webhosting). If you are and still cannot see the services, ask customer support ⧉ to check. State the names of the services.

The account owner has died

Problem: We want to take over the account and the services in it as part of probate proceedings.

Solution: In the event of the death of the account owner (e.g. a domain holder, the customer of a Webhosting or another service), these services must be included in the probate proceedings. Only on the basis of a legally binding probate decision can we transfer the services or make them accessible to the new authorized person.

If you are not sure whether a given domain, hosting or other service really belonged to the deceased, or whether you are its rightful heir, do not hesitate to contact us first. Based on the information you give us, we will check which services were held in the account and let you know how to proceed before you possibly open probate proceedings.

To resolve such a situation, please contact us via the contact form ⧉ – describe the situation in the message and provide as much information as possible about the services this may concern. Our colleagues from the authorization department will check the status of the account and services and get back to you at the email address provided with further instructions.
