Preparing the service for handover
Each service that you manage from your customer account is independent of that account. All data required for operation is therefore stored directly with the service itself.
Changing customer account details or transferring the service to another customer has no effect on the details of the specific service (billing details, owner/operator details).
So before handing over the service, make sure that the service has the new owner's billing information set up. Follow the instructions in Services - Billing Information.
Change billing information:

Domain transfer
If you have set up the billing information for the new owner of the domain, you can proceed to the next step, which is to change the owner of the domain according to the Domains - Change Owner instructions.

You can then transfer the domain to the new owner's customer account by following the instructions in Services - Transfer Between Accounts. However, the new owner can also move it themselves using an authorization password, or they can re-register it with another registrar. However, reregistering a domain does not usually change the owner or the DNS servers (NSSET) of the domain.
Transfer of hosting service
If you have set up the billing information for the new owner of the hosting service, you can proceed to the next step, which is to change the service provider. This is the same for all hosting services and is done according to the instructions of the Service - Change Operator.
Then move the hosting to the new owner's customer account according to the instructions in Services - Transfer between accounts.

Common problems
Common handover issues include:
Invoices go to the original owner
Problem: I transferred the domain to a new owner, but I keep getting invoices.
Cause: This problem has two most common causes: either you have transferred only the domain and you are getting invoices for the untransferred web hosting (or vice versa), or you have not changed the billing information in the system permanently, i.e. according to the instructions for changing the billing information for services.
Solution: terminate the services you do not want to transfer or pay for. Only the owner of the account, or the user authorized to use the services, can modify the services in someone else's account. If you do not have permission, ask us ⧉ to contact the new owner to update the billing information for the service. However, the actual change is up to the owner.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will the new owner see my service history?
