WebMail - Mobile view

WebMail currently uses the Elastic mobile template by default. This template is not compatible with the Larry desktop template, and alternating between the two templates leads to display failures in the desktop version. The solution can be found in the Common Problems chapter.

This tutorial covers the basic operation of the WebMail &boxboxbox; interface on a mobile phone. For complete instructions on how to use WebMail, see WebMail - Manual.

In this article you will learn:

WebMail mobile interface

WebMail currently uses a modern responsive Elastic template for the mobile interface.

The original Larry Mobile template was removed from the system due to incompatibility with the new version of the RoundCube base software. For security reasons (the template itself and the software compatible with it are obsolete) we do not plan to re-deploy it.

In the picture you can find a diagram of the mailbox user interface:

Common problems

Common problems with the mobile version of WebMail include:

Reset Larry template with mobile Elastic

Problem: I have a Larry template set up on my computer with a List layout (no preview). Whenever I log into WebMail from my mobile, the layout switches to the default Widescreen (3 columns).

Cause: The mobile version uses an Elastic template that does not use the Layout parameter.

Solution: We are currently working on a solution from our side. In the meantime, you can use this alternative approach:

  1. In the customer administration, open the mailbox settings according to the instructions in Emails - Mailboxes.
  2. Add any alias to the mailbox. You do not need to change the password.
  3. Arrange for one mailbox name to log in to the PC and another (alias) to log in to the mobile version. The password is the same for both addresses.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you restore the original mobile view of WebMail?

Unfortunately no, the previous mobile view has not been maintained by its author for a long time and its deployment would cause problems with compatibility and security of the mail client.
