In this article you will learn:
WMS as a service
The WMS (Webhosting Managed Server) service was created based on the requirements of customers who needed a more powerful Webhosting &boxboxbox; for their project, but did not want to manage their own VPS &boxboxbox; server. It has the following features:
- Dedicated scalable power. A WMS is essentially a virtual server whose purchased hardware resources are not shared with other users, unlike regular web hosting. So you can rely on the application to have those resources available and not be constrained by other sites on the same server. If they are no longer sufficient, you can increase them according to the WMS - Increasing parameters instructions.
- Web hosting, databases, emails. You can set up services on WMS in a few clicks. You need a web host and a database to run your website, you can also assign emails to each web host.
- Administration report. You manage the WMS service exclusively from the customer administration, we do not allow direct access to the server.
WMS commissioning
To get WMS up and running, follow these steps:
- Order WMS ⧉.
- Wait for the service to be set up (usually within 1 hour of receiving payment).
- Set up a new web host and possibly a database. Allocate emails as needed.
- If you do not have all services with VEDOS, make sure you have the correct Type A, AAAA, and MX records set up in DNS.
- Install the application you want to run on the site, or upload the site files to SFTP.
- Activate an encrypted HTTPS connection and set it up on your site.

Glossary of terms
- HDD: The disk space used by the WMS, divided between site files and database data. The service uses SSDs.
- Grafana: Graphical interface for WMS performance diagnostics.
- Multihosting: web hosting for multiple websites (usually domains) at the same time.
- Proxy cache: A caching server that speeds up content retrieval and saves server resources. For WMS, it has a limited number of requests per month.
- RAM/CPU: The ratio of RAM to CPU threads allocated to the WMS.
- Advanced Configuration: the ability to adjust the ratio of RAM/CPU and HDD disk space allocated to sites and databases.
- SFTP: An encrypted variant of the FTP protocol deployed by WMS. SFTP cannot be connected to from a WebFTP client ⧉. We recommend the FileZilla client.
- SNI: Interface that allows connections over the secure HTTPS protocol.
- Dedicated hosting: the opposite of shared hosting, where a large number of websites run on one server. Dedicated hosting reserves a given server resource for itself.
- WMS: Web Hosting Managed Server. A service combining the power of a virtual server with the user interface of a regular web hosting.
