If you want to use WebSite 1.0 for your project, do not order Webhosting. Web hosting and (for paid options) email are already included in the WebSite service.

VEDOS Webhosting

Web hosting is one of our original services. It offers space for your own website files and databases, PHP support and thus various content management systems (WordPress, Joomla, ...) and emails.

To set up a website using a simple editor, try WebSite ⧉. The basic version (FREE) is free.

Web hosting tariffs

The web hosting service is currently offered in three tariffs, which you can further customize with additional services.

  • NoLimit. Web hosting NoLimit ⧉ is a basic tariff with parameters tuned especially for the popular WordPress content management system, which can install automatically using the application installer.
  • Extra. Webhosting Extra ⧉ extends NoLimit mainly with higher performance and daily backups.
  • LowCost. LowCost web hosting ⧉ is for experienced users who optimize the site for minimal performance consumption. For this reason, it does not include either an application installer or aliases.

Terms of ordering Webhosting

You can set up web hosting for any 2nd or 3rd tier domain, including domains registered with another provider.

Before placing a new order, please make sure that: 

  • You have the domain for which you are ordering Webhosting in your customer account. Webhosting can also be set up by an authorized user of the domain. You do not have to meet this condition if you register a domain elsewhere than with WEDOS or if you order a domain for free with Webhosting.
  • You do not use the domain for which you are ordering Webhosting with another service (WebSite, Mailhosting, WMS).

Order Webhosting

If you meet the conditions, order a new Webhosting in the order form ⧉. This has seven steps:

  3. Login/Registration
  4. Domain Owner
  5. Billing information
  6. Operator
  7. Finish

1. Basic information

In the first step, enter the name (domain or subdomain without www) of the web hosting. 

If you want to get a free domain with your web hosting, fill out this order only (do not order a domain separately). The free domain promotion is valid only for selected extensions (see the actual list directly in the order) and is exclusive of most discount coupons.

Next, select a tariff and additional services. Both can be changed later in the customer administration by following the instructions Webhosting - Change tariff and Webhosting - Additional services.

Next, set the options:

In the next section, set:

  • Presents. Choose whether you want a gift (for example, a free domain) with your web hosting. If you want to redeem a discount coupon instead, select No gift.
  • Bonus for switching from competitors. If you are not requesting this bonus, do not fill in the field. For more information about the competitor switching bonus, please visit the ⧉ website.
  • Discount coupon. Enter and apply the discount coupon code here to set up web hosting. Coupons are usually combined with gifts.

2. Settings

In this step, fill in the domain settings ordered with the web hosting. 

If you have not selected the Free Domain gift with web hosting, the system will skip this step.

3. Login/Registration

In this step, log in or register in the customer administration.

If you are already logged in to the administration, the system will skip this step.

If you have problems logging in, follow the instructions in Administration - Login Problems.

4. Domain owner

In this step, fill in the details of the owner of the domain ordered with the web hosting. 

If you did not select the Free Domain for Web Hosting gift, or you filled in an existing domain contact in step 2, the system will skip this step.

5. Billing information

Billing information may differ from the owner's information. The system will send all billing and service setup communications to that email (and only that email).

You can update the billing information for the Service afterwards by following the instructions in Services - Billing Information.

6. Operator

In this step, fill in the details of the web hosting provider with whom VEDOS will conclude a processing contract.

The web hosting provider has no special powers with respect to the service. In the event of a dispute, VEDOS considers the Customer whose account the Service is in to be the owner of the Service, unless a court or other competent authority decides otherwise.

7. Finish

In this step, check the entered data thoroughly, especially the billing e-mail to which the system will send an e-mail about the web hosting setup and FTP access after the service is created.

At the end of the order you can choose to pay via a deposit account.

After submitting your order, the system will immediately send you an e-mail with your payment details. After successful receipt of payment, it will set up the service within 1 hour.


Common problems

Common problems with ordering Web hosting include:

The domain is in another customer account

Problem: Error This domain name cannot be used. - The domain is registered in another customer account, you must be in the same account or set permissions.

Cause: the domain name you want to set for the hosting service must be in the same customer account as the hosting service, or it must be an account that is an authorized user of the domain and DNS. This is a security measure to prevent misuse of domains.

Solution: Move the domain at least temporarily to your own customer account(using the service transfer method or an authorization password), or have your account set up as an authorized user.

The domain name cannot be used

Problem: Error This domain name cannot be used. - The domain name is already in use with another service (service).

Cause: a domain (or subdomain) name can be used at most once for most hosting services in our system. It doesn't matter if these services are on a single customer account - the restriction is system-wide.

Solution: rename the conflicting service(WebSite, Mailhosting, other Webhosting or alias) as instructed in the link, for example to stary.domena.tld, replacing domain.tld with your domain name. Remove the alias completely.

Bonus for switching from competitors

Problem: After ordering a webhosting with a migration bonus, the invoice arrived, the webhosting is not working.

Cause: you get the bonus period in addition to the 1st year of Webhosting.

Solution: Pay for the first year of service, then the system will send your bonus request to customer support for approval.

The emails stopped coming

Problem: After setting up web hosting, emails to an external service (Google Workspace, ...) stopped coming.

Cause: if you leave the WEDOS DNS changes checked in your web hosting order, the system will overwrite both the A and AAAA records and the MX records.

Solution: Set the DNS MX records back to the original email service provider.

Domain goes to the original webhosting

Problem: Despite the DNS rewrite, the domain is pointing to the original web host.

Cause: the domain is probably not using WEDOS DNS servers. The content of the original site may also be cached in the browser.

Solution: Check if the domain uses WEDOS DNS servers (NSSET). If so, wait up to 1 hour to rewrite DNS records and clear browser cache ⧉ if not, change records manually with current provider. 


Frequently Asked Questions

Is the NoLimit and NoLimit Extra web hosting space really unlimited?

Yes, but it only applies to files that the site is actively using. It is forbidden to keep backups on this space (use the Free Backup Disk to deal with backups). File size is also physically limited by the capacity of the server.

What is the difference between the free Domain for this hosting and the free Domain for this hosting?

The first one relates directly to the order (you order the hosting at the same time as the domain), the second one sends a coupon to reset the price of the domain ordered separately according to the Domains - Registration instructions.

I entered the wrong domain name, what should I do?

If the service is not yet set up, please request a cancellation via the support form. If the system has already set up the webhost, rename it according to these instructions.

The form skips some of the order steps, why is this happening?

Some steps of the form are conditional on previous settings, for example, selecting the free Domain gift for this web hosting.
