In this article, you will learn:

Hosting WP Backups

We automatically back up both the files and the databases of the Hosting WP service, both locally to a different disk and to a different server in a different rack. The frequency of automatic backups depends on the plan:

  • Business: 1/day
  • NoLimit: 1/week
  • LowCost: 1/month

These automatic backups are intended primarily for internal purposes, but if your website fails due to a problematic update, you can request a restore.

Manual Backups

Currently, Hosting WP can be backed up manually only by using a WordPress plugin.

Do not store backups created by the plugin on the web server! Back them up to your own device (computer, external drive), or use an archiving service, for example VEDOS Disk ⧉.

Restoring from a Backup

Restoring from a backup is currently handled by Support. Request it as follows:

  1. Open the contact form ⧉.
  2. If you are not logged in to the form, log in to the account that contains the service whose backup you want to restore.
  3. Fill in the request to restore from a backup.

In the message text, include:

  • the name (domain) or number of the service;
  • the most precise possible date and time when the website was damaged. In the reply to the email from the form, the technician will tell you the date and time of the backup that is available.

Restoring Hosting WP from a backup is free of charge. The usual response time is within 1 business day.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I restore my website from a backup immediately?

We are working on restoring from a backup with a button in the Customer Administration. Until it becomes available, the fastest way to request a backup is the procedure described in the chapter Restoring from a Backup.

I have a manual backup made with the plugin, but my website is so broken that I cannot access the plugin. What should I do?

If the manual backup is stored elsewhere, for example on your computer or on the service Disk ⧉, you can do the following with your Hosting WP service: reset it, install the same backup plugin, and perform the restore.
