Hosting WP
Hosting WP is a new service offering maximum support for the WordPress content management system (CMS). This support includes:
- WordPress preinstalled when the service is set up
- Optimized server with LiteSpeed, Redis, supported PHP and MariaDB
- DDoS protection specialized for WordPress
- Regular automatic backups
Among other things, Hosting WP offers the following with selected plans:
- Unlimited space for website files and databases
- Space for email with an unlimited number of mailboxes and email aliases
You can find the complete service description on the Hosting WP product page.
Service plans
We currently offer the Hosting WP service in three plans:
- NoLimit WP. Hosting NoLimit WP ⧉ is the basic plan designed for small and medium-sized business websites with email support.
- Business WP. Hosting Business WP ⧉ is the plan with maximum performance and email storage for large companies.
- LowCost WP. Hosting LowCost WP ⧉ is for undemanding users who need a small, simple website and no email.
You can find a complete overview of the parameters of each plan on the Hosting WP product page ⧉.
Hosting WP ordering requirements
You can set up Hosting WP for any second- or third-level domain, including domains registered with another provider.
Before creating a new order, make sure that:
- You have the domain you are ordering Hosting WP for in your customer account. Hosting WP can also be set up by an authorized user of the domain. You do not need to meet this requirement if you register the domain somewhere other than VEDOS.
- You are not using the domain you are ordering Webhosting for with another service (Webhosting, WebSite, Mailhosting, WMS).
Hosting WP order
If you meet the requirements, order a new Hosting WP using the order form ⧉. It has five steps:
1. Basic information
In the first step, select a plan and enter the name (domain or subdomain without www) of the Hosting WP.
With the NoLimit WP and Business WP plans, you can activate Add-on Services to expand your email mailboxes. The Business WP plan also offers monthly billing.

In this step you can also set:
- DNS settings. Here you can choose whether to automatically modify the domain’s DNS records in the WEDOS system so that they point the website, email, or both to the newly created service.
- Discount coupon. By entering and applying a discount coupon, you reduce the price of the base service or of Add-on Services. The system also locks the plan change. If you want to change the plan after applying a discount coupon, deactivate the coupon first.
The value of the discount coupon may differ depending on the selected plan.
2. Login/registration
In this step, log in or register in the customer administration.
If you are already logged in to the administration, the system skips this step.
If you have trouble logging in, follow the guide Administration – Login Problems.
3. Billing details
Billing details may differ from the owner’s details. The system will send all billing and communication about the service setup to the email address provided (and only to that address).
You can update the billing details of the service later by following the guide Services – Billing Details.
4. Operator
In this step, fill in the details of the operator of the Hosting WP service, with whom WEDOS, a.s. will conclude a data processing agreement.
The operator of Hosting WP has no special authority over the service. In the event of a dispute, WEDOS, a.s. considers the owner of the service to be the customer in whose account the service is located, unless a court or another competent authority decides otherwise.
5. Completion
In this step, carefully check the details you entered, especially the billing email.
At the end of the order, you can choose to pay using a Credit Account.
After you submit the order, the system will immediately send you an email with payment details. Once the payment is successfully received, the service will be set up within 1 hour.
Getting your WordPress website up and running
To get the new service up and running, you need to:
DNS settings
To access Hosting WP, you need to set the appropriate DNS records for the domain. You can do this in the following ways:
- Automatically during ordering. If you tick the option in the order set records on WEDOS DNS servers (does not change the domain’s DNS servers), the system will point the domain to the newly created Hosting WP automatically. This setting only takes effect if the domain uses WEDOS DNS servers (NSSET).
- Automatically from the service detail. A domain that uses WEDOS DNS servers (NSSET) can be pointed automatically using the button Set Domain in WDNS as described in the guide below.
- Manually. If the domain does not use WEDOS DNS servers (NSSET), set the service’s DNS records manually. You will get the values from the table as described in the guide below.
To set up the domain’s DNS in the service detail, follow these steps:
- Log in to the Customer Administration ⧉.
- In the navigation bar, select Hosting services Hosting WP.
- From the menu, select the service whose DNS you want to set or look up.
- Find the table Domain DNS Settings.
- Choose automatic setup of email, the website, or both.
- Confirm with the button Set Records in WDNS.

Logging in to the administration
The Hosting WP service includes the preinstalled WordPress content management system. This system is accessible under the administrator account:
- Email: the email of the customer account owner
- Username: the mailbox name of the customer account owner (without the @ sign and the domain)
- Password: reset it following the instructions in the service setup email, or at
yourdomain.tld/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword, whereyourdomain.tldreplace with the name of your domain.
Getting email up and running
Email is available with the NoLimit WP and Business WP plans. Get it running by following these guides:
- Make sure the domain has correctly set MX records and SPF record.
- Create new email mailboxes.
- If you are switching from another service, move your emails to the new mailboxes.
- Check the mailboxes via WebMail, or connect them to an email client using IMAP and SMTP.
Common problems
Common problems with ordering and launching the Hosting WP service include:
- Domain in another customer account
- The domain name cannot be used
- Emails stopped arriving
- The website or the password change link in the administration of the newly created WordPress does not work
The domain is in another customer account
Problem: An error is displayed: This domain name cannot be used. – The domain is registered in another customer account; you must be in the same account or set up authorization.
Cause: The domain whose name you want to set for a hosting service must be in the same customer account as that hosting service, or the account must be an authorized user of the domain and DNS. This is a security measure against domain abuse.
Solution: Move the domain, at least temporarily, to your own customer account (using the service transfer method, or using the authorization password), or have your account set as an authorized user.
The domain name cannot be used
Problem: The error This domain name cannot be used. – The domain name is already used by another service (service). is displayed.
Cause: A domain (or subdomain) name can be used at most once with most hosting services in our system. It does not matter whether these services are in the same customer account – the restriction applies system-wide.
Solution: Rename the conflicting service (WebSite, Mailhosting, Webhosting or alias) following the guide in the link, for example to old.domain.tld, where you replace domain.tld with the name of your domain. Remove the alias completely.
Emails stopped arriving
Problem: After Hosting WP was set up, emails stopped arriving at an external service (Google Workspace, …).
Cause: If you leave the option to make all changes in WEDOS DNS ticked in the webhosting order, the system overwrites both the A and AAAA records and the MX records.
Solution: Set the DNS records of type MX back to the original email service provider.
For future orders where a similar problem may occur, untick the automatic setup of DNS records for email routing.
The WP password change link does not work
Problem: You received the Hosting WP setup email, but after clicking the link to the administration, an error or a completely different page is displayed.
Cause: The most common cause is a problem with the DNS records settings.
Solution: Check whether the DNS records are set correctly. If the domain does not use DNS servers (NSSET) of WEDOS, make sure the settings have been propagated correctly at the actual provider. In some cases this can take tens of minutes, so wait and try opening the WP administration later.
Frequently Asked Questions
I entered an incorrect domain name, what should I do?
If the service has not been set up yet, contact Support through the form ⧉ to cancel the order. If the system has already set up the hosting, rename it.
Why doesn’t my VEDOS administration password work for my WordPress?
The Hosting WP password is generated randomly by the system. For your first login, you must set your own password following the guide in the service setup email, or in the chapter Logging in to the administration.
